The Egg Donation Process
Conceptions Center is a full service egg donation agency providing guidance by our team of experienced IVF coordinators.
While the egg donor selection process can feel somewhat overwhelming for some, our caring team is here to help and will provide you with updates, reminders and progress reports every step of the way. We generally recommend patients make a list of the 5-10 candidates you feel a connection with. From your narrowed short list, our coordinators will provide additional information, specific costs and availability for each option. This will help you with determining which egg donor candidate overall is best for you.
We invite you to view our incredible egg donor profiles. Our egg donor program registration is easy, free and available right now for you to get started. To learn more about our egg donation program, contact ConceptionsCenter.com
Here is an overview of what to expect:
Reserving a Donor
We welcome the opportunity to provide personal matching recommendations, based on the specific criteria you are hoping to find in your ideal egg donor. We want you to feel well informed about potential egg donor candidates and confident with your profile considerations.
Please advise the Conceptions team of your preferred timeline for your cycle. Once we confirm the egg donor’s ability to move forward, you will be asked to provide a deposit to formally reserve your egg donor. Remember that egg donor profiles are subject to specific availability and matching is conducted on a first-come first-serve basis.
You will be required to complete your contract documents and pay your balance in full, within 3-5 business days of reserving your egg donor. The official “match” will be provided to the clinic after we receive your completed paperwork and fees.
Out of State/Area Donation Cycles
Conceptions Center will coordinate both local and out-of-state egg donations. An out of state donation refers to those egg donors who reside in a state or area other than that in which the Prospective Parents are located. Clinics vary greatly with regard to their requirements for an out of state/area donor. The team at Conceptions Center will coordinate with your clinic and the traveling egg donor on all additional instructions and requirements. Any travel and outside monitoring will be arranged by Conceptions Center. Approximate costs will be provided to you prior to the start of the cycle, however may obviously vary depending on dates, required testing, etc.
Donor Work-up and Clearance
Conceptions Center will arrange for your egg donor candidate to meet with the required professionals for further evaluation and screening and begin your scheduling.
Medical Screening generally consists of a series of blood tests, cervical cultures, a physical exam and a vaginal ultrasound.
Genetic Screening is generally in the form of blood tests and investigates whether the Egg Donor is a carrier of genetic diseases. Such testing is optional and can include screening forCystic Fibrosis, SMA and Fragile X, etc.
Psychological Screening is conducted by a psychologist or social worker to ensure the egg donor is aware of the psychological implications of the egg donation process. This screening will help determine if the egg donor candidate is psychologically suitable to participate.
The Egg Donor Cycle
The physician will determine all medical protocols for both the Intended Parents and Egg Donor.
Egg Donor monitoring typically lasts anywhere from 12 to 24 days, depending on the assigned protocol.
Throughout the cycle, Conceptions Center will monitor both you and your Egg Donor to offer encouragement, support and guidance. You can expect to receive routine progress updates on your egg donor, as she cycles.
Egg Retrieval
If fertilization takes place, one or more of the resulting embryos may be transferred approximately 3-5 days after retrieval. Recommendations will be provided by the physician and embryology lab. Any decisions regarding the disposition of embryos which are not immediately transferred will be the sole responsibility of Intended Parents in conjunction with the physician/lab/clinic.
Conceptions Center will be happy to help if you are inclined to send a small note of kindness or other gesture to your egg donor prior to (or after) the egg retrieval. Of course, this is not a requirement and is completely at your discretion. To maintain confidentiality of both parties, please avoid having the clinic act as the intermediary for these sweet gestures. We ask that you sign any notes simply with your first names or initials only.
